Comments Policy
Each article/post submitted on cardstuff.com has the option for each user to post a comment at the end of the article or post. This is a feature built into WordPress (The
Content Management System powering this website) but is carefully neutralized by
Staff to ensure proper use. Comments are moderated both automatically and by
human elements to ensure spam comments never reach there destination and your
voice and opinion gets a shine in the spotlight. Commenting on articles and
posts is something we encourage, but there are certain guidelines that we wish
for anyone commenting to follow. Nothing restricting or controlling, just some
basic guidelines.
Your privacy and comments
The comment feature is encouraged throughout any article/post on CardStuff, while anyone can comment you are not forced to do so, this would be wrong and unfair therefore you are able to read any content on CardStuff without having to comment.
If you do comment on one or more articles/posts your privacy remains the same
as if you hadn’t commented at all. When commenting you are required to fill in a couple of fields, these include Name, Email, Website URL and the comment itself.
The name field of a comment is simply a unique ID of someone. This name does not have to represent anything about yourself, it can be a screen name or anything that you want it to be, you are free to choose what it is.
The website url field is optional, if a person that comments also owns a website domain they can input the full URL into the field, this will (When a comment is posted) make whatever was inputted into the name field by hyperlinked with the website URL given.
The email field is where you have to put a valid email address otherwise you will not be able to submit a comment, while a email address is personal this is never displayed publicly. In fact only a administrator with the correct permission rights can view the email address that is linked with a comment.
The comment field is where you have your say on what has been posted. Please keep it short and to the point, SPAM is forbidden.
Data such as IP/Email addresses are collected, but are in no way used or displayed anywhere else. This information is collected by the engine that powers the entire website which is WordPress. The data that is collected is simply for administrator viewing only, it is never displayed publicly. Here’s some things you shouldn’t be doing when commenting on any article/post:
1] Do not make a spam comment. This includes spamming multiple website links in a comment and also spamming random bits of text that aren’t generic and don’t make any sense to a human being. Any form of spam comment instantly gets caught and held in the spam comment section, so it never gets past the spam check. But sure you try you won’t get far though!
2] Making any Racist/Discriminatory remark isn’t acceptable and your comment will instantly be removed if you do this. Zero tolerance.
3] Excessively swearing isn’t exactly great either. Ok, we all use the common swear words and occasionally one of us may have put in the f word in some of our articles/posts but excessively swearing is taking it a bit too far, and if you just swear blindly in a comment it may be removed.
4] Try not to go off topic, it happens more in forums but sometimes it can happen in comments as well. If your commenting make sure you on the topic of the post/article you are commenting on.
We would like to point out that, your comment can be removed at anytime without warning if it is deemed to violate any of the guidelines stated here, if you included a valid email address, you may be notified that your comment was removed and the reason why it was.
